Everything Happens for a Reason
Life is a chaotic dance, isn't it? One minute, you're riding high on a wave of good vibes, and the next, you're face down in the dirt, wondering what the hell went wrong. It's in those moments—the dark, gritty ones—that we often question everything. Why did this happen to me? What cosmic joke is being played out right now? But here's the kicker: everything happens for a reason. Yeah, I know it sounds like some new-age bullshit, but stick with me. I'm not talking about the fluffy, sunshine-and-rainbows version of this idea. I'm talking about the raw, unfiltered truth that life is a series of events, each connected in ways we can't always see.
When I was tossed into the foster care system at two years old, I didn’t understand why. I didn’t understand why my biological parents didn’t want me or why every foster family I landed with seemed more broken than the last. And when I finally got adopted by that Mormon family, I thought, “Maybe this is it. Maybe this is where I’m supposed to be.” But life had other plans. That family didn’t see me for who I was. They saw a kid with a gift and tried to squash it, tried to convince me that my insight came from some dark place. They told me I was messed up, that I was gay because of some evil force, and I believed them for a long time.
But every painful experience, every betrayal, every damn hardship—those were the universe’s way of pushing me, shaping me, teaching me to trust in something bigger than myself. The universe, in all its twisted humor, was guiding me to where I needed to be. When they took Caleb from me, it was like ripping my heart out, a mirror of my own abandonment. The pain was unbearable, but it forced me to confront my past, my trauma, and to rebuild myself from the ground up.
Here's what I've learned: the universe isn’t out to get us, even when it feels like it. It's just moving us around on its cosmic chessboard, placing us in situations that are meant to teach us something, to push us in a direction we might not have chosen for ourselves. Every damn time I've been knocked down, there was a reason for it. It made me tougher, more resilient, and more aware of the energy that surrounds us all.
When I say, “Trust the universe,” I’m not saying sit back and do nothing. This isn’t about being passive. It’s about leaning into the chaos, finding the lesson in the madness. Sometimes, you have to go through the shit to get to the gold. It's about knowing that every twist and turn, every unexpected roadblock, is part of a bigger plan. It's the universe's way of saying, "I've got you. Just wait and see."
Trusting the universe means letting go of the need to control every damn detail. It's about understanding that there's a rhythm to the madness. I’ve seen it time and time again in my own life. Every time I fought against what was happening, I only created more resistance, more pain. But when I finally let go, when I trusted that maybe, just maybe, there was a reason behind all the chaos—that's when things started to shift.
Look, life is messy. It's full of heartbreak, betrayal, and loss. But it's also full of love, growth, and transformation. We can't always see the bigger picture, especially when we're knee-deep in the shit. But trust me when I say, there's a reason for it all. The universe isn't cruel; it's just honest. It gives us what we need, even when we don't know we need it.
So, next time you're cursing the heavens, wondering why life is kicking you in the teeth again, remember this: there’s a lesson in the pain. There’s a reason behind the struggle. Trust in that. Trust in yourself. Trust in the damn universe, because everything, absolutely everything, happens for a reason.
Stay strong, keep pushing forward, and trust the ride. The universe has your back, even when it feels like it's pushing you off a cliff. And remember, you're not alone in this. We're all in this cosmic mess together, trying to make sense of the madness.
Until next time, keep your eyes open and your heart strong.
