Unplanned Tarot Reading Turned into a Damn Revelation

Today was one of those days where I woke up feeling like I had a storm cloud hovering over me. You know the kind of day where you just feel like the universe is throwing shade at you for no damn reason? Yeah, that was my morning. But, as it always does, the day took an unexpected turn.

Anthony, my husband, was already up and about, probably wrangling the dogs or messing around with his latest obsession—he's been on this weird bonsai kick lately. I swear, I came downstairs to find him trimming tiny trees with the kind of focus that makes you think he's about to solve world hunger. But, hey, if it makes him happy, I’m all for it.

After getting my coffee fix, I decided to pull out my tarot deck. I wasn’t planning on doing any readings today, but something about the energy in the house was off, and I figured it might help clear the air. I usually save these sessions for my clients, but sometimes you’ve got to take care of yourself first, right?

So, I shuffle the deck, lay out the cards, and BAM! It hits me like a ton of bricks. The cards basically screamed at me that I’ve been avoiding something important—my own damn growth. It’s funny how I spend so much time helping other people find their paths, but I sometimes forget to check in on my own. The card that really stood out was the Tower. Now, if you’re into tarot, you know the Tower is a card that’s all about sudden change, upheaval, and, let’s face it, shit hitting the fan. It’s not a card anyone wants to see, but it’s necessary. It’s a wake-up call, telling you that something’s got to give.

As I stared at that card, memories started flooding back—moments from my past when everything seemed to fall apart, only for it to lead to something better. I guess that’s the lesson today. The universe doesn’t give a damn about your comfort zone; it’s going to push you until you grow, whether you like it or not.

I thought about this client I had a while back. She was terrified of leaving her toxic relationship, even though it was obvious to everyone around her that she was miserable. She kept coming to me, asking for advice, but it was the same shit every time—“What if I can’t make it on my own? What if I never find love again?” You know the drill. I kept telling her that staying in her situation was only going to lead to more pain. Sometimes, the universe throws a Tower moment at you because you need to burn that shit down and start fresh. Eventually, she took the plunge, left his sorry ass, and guess what? She’s thriving now. That’s what the Tower does—it forces you to let go of the old to make room for the new.

After the reading, I took a walk with Anthony and the dogs. We live in this quiet, rural area, and let me tell you, nothing clears your head like a walk in the middle of nowhere with eight dogs and the love of your life by your side. We talked about the reading, and Anthony, in his usual calm and wise way, reminded me that growth isn’t always supposed to be easy. It’s like tending to those damn bonsai trees—patience, care, and sometimes a little pruning are necessary to shape something beautiful.

So, here I am, sharing this with you. If there’s one thing I’ve learned today, it’s that you can’t shy away from the hard stuff. The universe isn’t out to get you; it’s out to make you better. And sometimes, that means tearing down what’s not working and rebuilding from the ground up.

I’ll leave you with this: If you’re going through something tough right now, maybe it’s time to embrace that Tower moment. It might suck in the moment, but trust me, it’s leading you somewhere better. And if you need a little guidance along the way, well, you know where to find me.

Until next time, stay strong, stay wild, and don’t be afraid to let the universe shake things up.
